A Different Wager

Say you have trouble with the belief in a omnipresence of some kind (whether a god or a total universe).

Say too that you have difficulty escaping your own tendency to believe in an omnipresence of some kind.

Under these circumstances, one could formulate the request (which takes the form of a prayer except for the absence of an addressee), “please release me from a belief in an omnipresence of some kind.”

A complicated matrix emerges, but it seems that such a request could conceivably immunize you, at least in the moment it’s formulated, against a false belief in an omnipresence of some kind.
